On November 24th and 25th 2011 a Symposium on Digital Edition of Multiversion Texts was held at the Universidad de Deusto, with the scientific coordination of Carmen Isasi and in the context of the activities of Seminario Alfonso Irigoien (SAI), an integral part of the Lingua Media research group.
The main topic of this meeting was the treatment of multiverson texts from perspectives as divers as Textual Criticism, mark-up, visualization or data extraction.
The edition of “fueros” (local or regional law codes) also was debated in some of the presentations of the symposium, as well as in the round table “Los fueros como paradigma de textos múltiples” and in the debate that followed it.
In the frame of this symposium, Carmen Isasi from the Universidad de Deusto and Sagrario López Poza from the Universidade da Coruña promoted, with the support of other scholers present in this meeting, prepared the foundational agreement of the International Association of Hispanic Digital Humanities (Asociación de Humanidades Digitales Hispánicas, HDH).
In the following months the rules and constitutional documents of the Association will be presented. All scholars interested in Hispanic Digital Humanities are invited to join the Association.
